My grandfather hates to exercise after suffering from a stroke, although exercise is critical for his recovery. It pains me to see him suffering - someone who was so active and energetic in the past have to lie in bed now. Dance for life empowers such patients to better comply with the rehab routines, allowing for faster recovery, saving billions of avoidable healthcare cost while making dance more accessible to everyone.
What it does
It uses perception neuron to track the exercise motion, and convert that to dance moves. It improves the physical and mental well-being of the patients.
How we built it
We used perception neutron to record a series of rehab routines and dance moves. After that, we developed mapping algorithm to map those routines to dance (accompanied with music)
Challenges we ran into
It takes a while to calibrate the perception neuron due to unstable connection. We also spent a fair bit of time to map a single routine to a dance moves.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We developed an initial prototype and made a good business case for that.
What we learned
Learned about the importance of art for hospital, and about how best to work with each other.
What's next for DanceForLife
Improve on music synchronization -collaborate with Perception Neuron to make the device more comfortable for patients to wear
Incorporate a variety of dance moves from different cultures.

I worked on motion capturing process to connect in Unity in Live. Also by being model of demo to motion capture, I was the one wearing perception neuron device, thinking about future development ways as a user.
